What happens next
From form to first visit, in three steps.
We handle the insurance part, so you know your cost before you come in.
Step one
Fill out the form
Tell us a little about you, your goals and your insurance. If you have a dietitian in mind, say so. If not, we will match you.
Step two
We verify your benefits
We contact your insurance, confirm your coverage and any visit limits, and send you your cost in writing.
Step three
We schedule your visit
We reach out to set up your first visit with your dietitian, in person or by video, at a time that works for you.
Your first visit
A full 60 minutes with your dietitian
Your first visit is a real conversation, not a lecture. Your dietitian gets to know your health history, your goals, your daily routine, and what has and has not worked before. Then you map out a plan together that fits the life you actually live.
You leave with clear, doable first steps. You also leave with your next visit booked. Most successful clients meet weekly or every other week for about their first 8 visits. Your dietitian recommends the schedule that fits your goals, and visits spread out as you start reaching them.
What to bring
- Your insurance card
- Recent lab results, if you have them (for example A1C, blood sugar or cholesterol)
- A list of your medications and supplements, including any GLP-1 medication
- A referral from your doctor, only if we tell you your plan needs one
- Your questions and goals. A few notes on a phone are plenty.
For a video visit
Use a phone, tablet or computer with a camera, and find a private spot where you can talk openly. Visits happen on our secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, Healthie.

Most plans cover visits with a Registered Dietitian, often as preventive care. We are in network with UnitedHealthcare and UMR, Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield (Anthem), Aetna, Cigna and Curative. In-network billing is for clients in Georgia, Florida, California and Pennsylvania.
Every plan is different, so we check yours and send you your cost in writing before your first visit. Don’t see your plan? Book anyway, and we will find out what you would owe.
Medicare covers nutrition visits for diabetes and chronic kidney disease, with a referral from your doctor. See Medicare dietitian coverage for the details.
Paying yourself? See self-pay rates. HSA and FSA accepted.
Questions
Before you book.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Usually not, but a few plans require one. Medicare does require a referral from your doctor. We will tell you when we check your benefits, so you are never caught off guard.
How long until my first visit?
We check your benefits first, then contact you to schedule. If you have questions about timing, call or text 470-731-9176.
What if I would rather not use insurance?
That is fine. Self-pay visits are $225 for the first visit (60 minutes) and $110 for follow-ups (45 minutes). We accept credit and debit cards, HSA and FSA, and we can give you a superbill to submit to your insurance.
Can I choose my dietitian?
Yes. Tell us who you would like to see when you book. If you are not sure, share your goals and we will suggest the best fit.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations (under 24 hours) and missed visits have a $50 fee, and a card on file is required to hold your time. If something urgent comes up, just reach out.
Does Medicare cover dietitian visits?
Medicare covers nutrition visits for diabetes, chronic kidney disease (stages 3 to 5, not on dialysis) and within 36 months of a kidney transplant, with a referral from your doctor. It does not cover nutrition visits for weight or prediabetes. We will tell you any cost before you book.
