Her story

Why Emily practices the way she does

Like many people, Emily spent years in the constant push of a traditional corporate 9 to 5: long days, high expectations, and the slow, quiet burnout that comes from putting your own health last. She understood nutrition on paper. It was not until her own health was challenged that her relationship with wellness truly changed.

After being diagnosed with thyroid cancer and having a partial thyroidectomy, she had to pause and look much more closely at her health. Not just labs and protocols, but energy, stress, recovery, mindset and daily habits. That experience reshaped how she practices nutrition and how she shows up for every client.

“Being a thyroid cancer survivor adds a layer of empathy and perspective to my work. But it’s the science, structure, and partnership that drive meaningful change.”

Her background

Emily is a Registered Dietitian with a Master of Science in clinical nutrition. She has more than 10 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian and more than 16 years in the field of nutrition, across clinical, outpatient and corporate wellness settings. She is also a CDC-accredited Diabetes Prevention Program Lifestyle Coach and has taught diabetes prevention courses for 7 years.

Over her career she kept seeing people get advice that did not fit real life: busy schedules, stress, family responsibilities, medical histories, and complicated feelings about food. WebRD was built to do things differently.

How she works with clients

Emily blends evidence-based medical nutrition therapy with whole-person thinking. She does not believe in rigid rules, cutting foods out without a reason, or guilt-driven plans. Her work is rooted in:

  • Evidence-based medical nutrition therapy
  • Nutrition focused on metabolism and how your body actually works
  • Behavior change science and motivational interviewing
  • A realistic, non-judgmental approach to food and health

She looks past symptoms and diagnoses to the patterns underneath: lifestyle demands, stress, sleep, movement and nutrition together. She also works closely with physicians, therapists and fitness professionals so your care is coordinated.

What she helps with

Outside the office

When she is not working, Emily enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, hiking, strength training, and time with her family in the Atlanta area. She believes investing in your health is one of the most powerful decisions you can make, and she is honored to walk alongside her clients while they do it.
