Yes! We accept Insurance

Unlock one-on-one nutrition counseling at no cost—just like your annual physical.

Under the Affordable Care Act, many plans treat Registered Dietitian (RD) visits as preventive care, meaning you pay nothing when you see an in-network RD.

In-Network Coverage

What counts as preventive?

  • Adults with BMI ≥25 plus one cardiovascular risk factor (hypertension, high cholesterol, prediabetes/diabetes, coronary artery disease, or metabolic syndrome)

  • Children or adults with BMI ≥30

Your benefits:

  • 100% covered, no deductible or copay

  • Visit limits vary by plan—anywhere from 3 to 26 sessions per year

Pro tip: Always see an in-network RD. Out-of-network preventive services may incur copays or coinsurance.

Insurance Company Preventive Care Coverage Policy for Nutrition Counseling
Aetna

  • Obese (BMI 30+): up to 26 visits/year
Cigna Overweight or obese (BMI 25+ or BMI 30+): 3 visits/year
UnitedHealthcare / UMR Overweight or obese (BMI 25+ or BMI 30+): Coverage varies by policy
Blue Cross Blue Shield of GA Overweight or obese (BMI 25+ or BMI 30+): 10+ visits/year
Medicare Diabetes & renal disease: 3 hours of counseling/year (referral required; Advantage plans may offer additional visits)

**these are general preventative guidelines from each insurer. It is important to verify your coverage with your specific plan.
